#2: Concern For Scott O’Neil?
Dear Pards,
I don’t tend to give LIV much attention. Not because I hate it. It just doesn’t do much for me. That being said, the latest departure of Patrick Reed and Brooks have me questioning it’s future. As the commissioner of my 10 year old’s rec baseball league, I also worry for their commissioner, Scott O’Neil. Do you think he regrets taking this job? Or is he part of the problem?

Dear Mini-Manfred,
This is not the first time Scott O’Neil has found himself with a subpar superior. His first big job was head of operations for the New York Knicks. Who do you think is the better boss, the governor of the PIF, or the worst sports franchise owner in history? Well, the more I think about it—assuming the $300 million valuation of each of LIV’s 13 teams—Andrew Waterman might take the cake for both.
Unfortunately, swapping Brooks and P for Detry and La Sasso is worse than trading for Eddy Curry. Hopefully, Martin Kraymer and his Cleeks can rally around Dick Bland & Co. to survive all 72 holes in Riyadh this week.
I too wonder about O’Neil. If I could ask him one thing it’d be this: While leading the 76ers to the one seed in the East five years ago, where on your bingo card did you have “front and center of an AI-generated infographic boasting a Saudi-backed pet project of golf’s aging assets”?
I bet he never thought there would be a day he’d wake up whispering, "I miss James Dolan."
Long LXXII Golf,
